This week in class was very boring, but fun and iteresting at the same time.
Though I didn’t learn anything other than what’s new on the reading. The Wave is the book that we are reading and so far it’s sort of any school I’ve been in the States.
What we did in class…
The first day we worked on our blogs some more and learned how they can be used effectively whivh I’m still wondering how to load music from my iTunes on my blog.
The next day we worked on the questions that I, for some weird reason, enjoyed doing. I guess I liked answering the Wave questions because they asked for my opinion on them and not just one textbook answer.

David tries to convince Laurie to forget the events that took place in Nazi Germany:
“Forget about it. It happened once and the world learned it’s lesson. It’ll never happen again”
Do you agree?
No, I think that it will happen again because every man wants to taste extreme power, but only a few of the people can grasp it and eventually get corrupted by it. Unfortunately the world hasn’t learned it’s lesson, and I know this because everyone is ignorant whether they want to be or not. This leads to poverty and the lack of resources for others because the ones with money are always trying to find new ways to improve their life not other peoples life’s.
Should we try to forget evil events, and trust in the goodness of human nature?
We shouldn’t forget it even though it seems like the easiest choice to take. Instead I think we should learn the different perspectives of the issue and also try to see how the issue started in order to see how to prevent other problems like it from occurring. Usually the source of a conflict is when one man unites other people in order to form a band of united, organized men that choose to target people who aren’t united and aren’t organized, so the united people will always prevail and will be more powerful until those who aren’t united become one. In my opinion you can’t trust any man (including women) in the world with your whole heart other wise you are truly vulnerable to the world since your heart won’t be yours any more.
Is evil an outside force, or are we all capable of evil acts?
Evil is defiantly inside everyone, although not everyone is capable of unleashing their ‘dark’ side within themselves or their concious tells them not to commit an evil doing. My definition of an Evil Act is that it doesn’t have to affect everyone, instead it could just be an evil doing that is just pure bad so the first time you do it you might get butterflies in your stomach or something. An example os a self Evil act is like copying someones answers.

This week in class we talked about loads of stuff, not so much about english itself but more on life. For example, we watched this neat movie called Did You Ever Wonder and it showed kind of strange things about what is really going on in this world. Watch for yourself. We also learned about tools on the internet that are useful such as Google Reader. Google Reader is pretty cool because it allows you to see whenever a site that you like gets updated and what got updated. Finally we talked about the book The Wave which is a very interesting book and I recommend it to people that love to read. Since The Wave talks a lot about power we did our own little opinion of a quote that goes like this: “Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.” My opinion to that quote was this:
This statement is true because for the most part if you give someone/something power then they seem to use it to their advantage towards the acheivement of ‘their’ Greater Good. Take Hitler for example, he strived for everything that made life right… for him at least. In my opinion he had too much power and didn’t know what to do with it so he just toyed around with the world and said it was for the Greater Good. Another example is teachers. I mean back in the day that is because they pretty much beat the crap out of people if they thought it were necessary, which I think is over usng the power given to them. Also think about companies. It’s almost creepy to know how much they contrl you. For example, have you ever noticed all the different types of iPods that vary in size and such and how every one of them has their own accessories that you just have to buy. Well that’s on purpous, because the company intends the iPod to break or you want a new cooler iPod or something like that and when you buy that iPod they know for a fact that you’re going to want to buy accessories for your new up-to-date iPod. They also advertise it by saying that you aren’t cool unless you have the iPod. That for me is the scarriest type of power.
That’s just about all I can say about that quote for now that is. We also did a pyrimid on how our life is controlled by power. Mine goes like this:
Top: God
Parents
Government
Teachers
Sports
Friends
Electronics
Me
Food
Music
Young Kids
Bottom: Fashion (I don’t really care about)
I learned a lot from the video that we watched (which is meant for teachers) even though some of the stuff it talked about got me confused. I also learned how to use Google Reader effectively which is a big deal since I like to know about updates ondifferent things such as Sooner sports (Oklahoma University) and other interesting things.

We talked about poetry, writing, and life. In general, we described the key parts of each ‘topic’ clarifying what really made them. For example, writing is used as/for art, to express yourself, jobs, and thinking.
I learned basically all the stuff that we talked about in class except for the ‘What is writing’ thing. Ou conversations were pretty deep throughout the class especially the part about life, when we read the one poem “Thoughts From Within“.
I daydreamed about life and the concepts about it from around the world. I thought that I learned almost all the stuff that I wanted to focus on from the poem mainly because it gave me a huge description about the world in a different perspective.

My blogging goals are to…
…ineract with my blog by keeping it updated with information and not allow myself to fall far behind.
…make it my own personal space as if it were my own virtual room and also allow people to understand what I’m about I guess.
